The Musikplattform is the association of hobby musicians at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich and is intended for all students and staff members of both universities. To become a member one needs to register using ETH/UZH email.
Music is a great way to unwind from the stress in the academic life. It is important that musicians have the possibility to network and to perform in front of an audience, so that they can share their passion with other like-minded individuals. This is line with the ideas of a former student and professor in Zurich: "Kreativität ist ansteckend. Gib sie weiter. (Creativity is contagious. Pass it on)" (Albert Einstein)

Our goals and offerings
We organize opportunities for hobby musicians at the ETH and Uni Zurich to meet each other, jam, learn, and perform. Check out the calendar, to find out when the next events will take place!
The Musikplattform membership is free and accessible for people having ETH/UZH email. The registered members can easily find and contact other musicians through the Music Network. They can also post "ads" on our bill-board to find fellow musicians to participate in their next project.
By signing up on the music network you can also receive a newsletter, where you stay up-to-date with an overview of all music-related activities happening on campus. And don't forget to join the Whatsapp chat of our community (link is shown after the login).
In the "Other Communities" part of the webpage you can find the centralized list of all active music groups (e.g. orchestras, choirs, bands, etc...) at ETH and UZH and how to contact them (currently a little out of date, we are working on updating this: if you know of more opportunities, please let us know!)
We also keep a list of (external) offerings and discounts - check them out!
For any questions, suggestions and criticism you can contact us via email. The Musikplattform is completely run by volunteers and we are always looking for helping hands. So please feel free to contact us if you are interested in helping us out!
Also, we are currently establishing a new repertoire of events, so if you have ideas on events you would like to see us organize, please contact us - although be prepared to help lead the organization of your idea. 🙂

Location: LochNess Bar on the ETH Hönggerberg campus (Einsteinstrasse 4, 8049 Zürich, 1st floor - map)
An Open Mic event is an opportunity for musicians and singers to experiment and perform for an audience using very simple equipment.
The music equipment provided during the Open Mic will include a guitar amp, a keyboard and vocal microphones. Please bring your own instruments!

ETH CAB F21 (StuZ), Universitätstrasse 6, Zürich
The Battle of the Bands will take place as a two part event.
We will provide full equipment in terms of Drums, Amps and Mics. Additionally, there will be a recording of the performances!
We give priority to full band format acts, and have no restrictions on genre.
The idea is to play a minimum of 20min set for each band, but we can extend it once we get a feeling of the number of bands we have.
Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
We’re also on the lookout for helpers: bartenders, helpers, photographers, and poster designers. We will have beer and gifts for you. Just reach out to me for this! ❤
